UNCCI is set to host the Great lakes region private Sector forum Breakfast Launch on 16th January 2020 starting at 9:30 am at the Kampala Serena Hotel which has been organized in collaboration with the office of the special envoy for the UN Secretary General The Great Lakes region private sector forum was formed under the directive of the decision 36 of the declaration of the heads of state summit that was held on 31st August 2015 held in Luanda and was officially launched on 24th February 2016, in Kinshasa Democratic Republic of Congo. The Mandate of this forum is to navigate the key challenges that hamper the promotion of cross-border investment; improve the regional investment climate and forge a joint effort and enhanced political will towards the development and promotion of trade, business, and investment in the 16 member states of the great lakes region. The general assembly made a resolution that the forum is launched in all the member states and one of the reasons why Uganda Private sector is at its forefront is that Uganda has one of the biggest and fast-growing private sectors in the region and is advantageously and strategically located at the center of all the 16 member states which shall highly contribute to a great investment and business opportunities.
